The Roaches
In typical roaches style, it was notably wet for pretty much all of the
weekend! Although a few people managed to climb some very wet and slimey
routes on Sunday before getting utterly rained on. (Even Alison's ingenious
umbrella attachment didn't keep her dry whilst climbing!) However the main
success of the weekend was beating all the other university teams at the
boat race on Saturday night. We were the only uni to put forward both an
A and B team and contrary to Imperial's claim we totally thrashed them!
We then proceeded to thrash them again at the "Weir Challenge" before they
all decided it would be a good idea to just start randomly running through
the river: not terribly bright those chaps!
Obviously there were no photos taken due to the drippy nature of the
trip, but please send me some more comments if you have them.
Love from Spen
Well what can be said! It was the first trip of the year and so was
bound to rain in true fashion so absoluely no climbing was done -
we were not let down!. We did however get to visit sheffield with
a certain bus driver getting lost on numerous ocassions and I did nearly
die of hyperthermia at the top of the one and only route wich was completed
before it decided to piss it down on us. I think I can speak for
everyone that a good weekend was had all round.
