BRISTOL UNIVERSITY STOP AIDS SOCIETY

World Aids Day 2007

This year we will be marking the day with 2 events, the Balloon Release during the day and Singing for Sex in the night. Balloons(£1) and T-shirts(£6) can be bought from the Refectory and Medical building at lunchtime each day in the week running up to World Aids Day

Balloon Release

Sponsor a balloon for the small amount of £1 and if your balloon travels the furthest, then you win a fantastic (secret) prize. At 1:30pm the 999 balloons will be released, so make sure you are there when the balloons begin their journey. But if you're free, do something great with your Saturday and come down before to join in the fun.

Get down there early, for the committee will be on the Podium in the centre of Broadmead, blowing up balloons, collecting money, and handing out free condoms! We're being joined by the Mayor, a guest speaker from Treatment Action Campaign, 4 of Bristol's MPs (a great chance to lobby these folks!), and the magnificent sight of 999 red balloons!

Singing For Sex

Get ready for the return of Bristol's biggest and best live talent show, taking place on WORLD AIDS DAY. Featuring a great selection of 9 of the best performers in the university, plus an opening set from our Stop Aids house band and a sizzling performance from the FUZE dancers during the interval, this is a night not to be missed.

Doors open at 7pm in the Avon Gorge room of the Union. Donated prizes from local businesses will be raffled of at the end of the night. There will of course be an Epi-priced bar to keep everyone merry.

Once the audience have voted for their favourite act and the winners announced, we will all head down to Syndicate for the after party. Your Singing For Sex t-shirts are your tickets and get you a queue jump, VIP access, and £1 off entry. So get your t-shirts this week and join in on what always proves to be a fantastic night.
