During the two day conference, a multidisciplinary panel chaired by Dr David Bates, Consultant Neurologist, Royal Victoria Hospital, Newcastle, will use evidence from presentations and discussion to address the following key questions:

 

Who should make the diagnosis of epilepsy and what investigations should be done in children and adults?
Should first line treatment of epilepsy be different between males & females?
What is the role of polytherapy in the treatment of epilepsy?
How should serial seizures & status epilepticus be treated?

Abstracts are invited for poster presentation and should be submitted to the Conference Secretariat by Friday, 29 March 2002
