Postgraduate Student Internships at IOM

In 2017, 2 postgraduate students from the University of Bristol will be the first to undertake internships at the IOM GMDAC offices in Berlin, as part of an agreement between WUN (piloting a version of the Research Mobility Programme (RMP)) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), whose strategic alliance was signed on 2 April 2016. The WUN RMP encourages personal and academic development of individuals, primarily early in their research careers, to equip them with the skills needed for future international academic success. The programme allows young scholars to advance their knowledge-base within their field of study, establish new contacts and mentors, and enhance their graduate dissertations through the experience gained in studying in other research cultures.

The Global Migration Data Analysis Centre (GMDAC) in Berlin is responsible for providing all stakeholders with a better understanding of global migration data. GMDAC is involved in a three main areas of work:
