University of Bristol delegation attends WUN Adapting to Climate Change Global Challenge Meeting

A delegation from the University of Bristol’s Cabot Institute is attending the WUN Adapting to Climate Change Global Challenge Meeting hosted by the University of Southampton 25-28 September 2011.

The meeting will frame the WUN Global Challenge on Adapting to Climate Change and has the following objectives:

  • Review, critique and advance current concepts used to frame adaptation to climate change (ACC)
  • Share new insights and information on cases from WUN networks (established/establishing)
  • Identify the needs of stakeholders, how to pursue research to address them, and how to translate the findings into impact/action
  • Through a review of knowledge gaps, areas of good/poor understanding, and examples of successful practice, develop a modified framework(s) for future work and identify key global/regional targets for the implementation of new work in conjunction with stakeholders/funders
  • Consider a WUN declaration to be launched at UNFCCC Durban meeting

Among the Bristol delegates are:

Richard Pancost, Professor of Biogeochemistry
Mark Siddall, RCUK Research Fellow in the Department of Earth Sciences
Keith Syrett, Reader in Public Law and Health Policy
Joy Singarayer, Senior Lecturer in Oceanography and Allied Climate Modelling Research
Professor Bronwen Morgan, Professor of Socio Legal Studies
