The stationery has been designed to accommodate secondary elements (eg, partner organisations' logos) if necessary.
The formats shown on this page should always be closely adhered to.
A standard range of stationery materials has been selected for consistency, quality and value for money.
It is recommended that items of stationery show direct-dial telephone numbers whenever possible.
If you are having your address and any other standard information pre-printed onto your stationery at the same time as the University logo, the typeface to specify is Helvetica Neue. If you are having only the logo pre-printed (with a view to adding the address and other standard information by PC), you can use any sans-serif typeface similar to Helvetica Neue, eg Arial. The body of the letter, compliments slip, etc. can be typed in a sans-serif typeface to match that of the standard information.

There are two areas on the letterhead where non-standard information may appear.
The top band: this area is exclusively for the placing of other logos.
These should be positioned above the address block in such a way as not to diminish the University of Bristol logo. The isolation area around the University of Bristol logo must not be encroached upon.
The bottom band: this area is available for secondary logos and extra text information if required.
Non-standard information should not appear elsewhere on the letterhead.
There are word templates to help you generate your own letterhead in the corporate style if you do not want a pre-printed one. The templates are also useful for laying out letters correctly, whether or not you have a pre-printed letterhead.
There are two areas on the compliments slip where non-standard information may appear. These areas should conform with the letterhead as closely as possible.

The recommended business card has a white logo and 'learning, discovery, enterprise' out of a red background on the reverse. However, it is also acceptable (and cheaper) for the reverse to remain blank (white). Non-standard information such as other logos should not appear on either side of the business card.
