Young Vision Researchers’ Colloquium 2016
8 November 2016
This year’s colloquium was held on the same day as the EU Referendum. Those of us attending were treated to a day of discovery, with interesting and diverse current research, effectively communicated in a supportive environment.
With plenty of opportunity for interaction there was also a chance to view and discuss the 40+ posters that were part of the event.
Professor Graham Thomas, BBC R&D, gave an impressive keynote talk on the Augmented Reality Techniques for TV production. His presentation was punctuated by illustrative examples of television clips to demonstrate the techniques.
There were excellent presentations on a broad range of vision-related topics, encompassing engineering, psychology, biology, medical science and computer science - something for everyone, with presenters from the Universities of Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Cardiff Metropolitan, Bath and Edinburgh.
