      Many of the methods detailed have been modified from the original to give good results in our laboratory.

    • All solutions are intended to be aqueous (dissolved in distilled water) unless otherwise stated in the method. 
      For example if 1% methylene blue is called for this means 1g of methylene blue  dissolved in 100ml distilled water.

    •  Dewaxing sections refers to the process of removing all traces of wax from sections before staining. 
      The phrase "Dehydrate, clear and mount" seen at the end of many of the methods refers to the process of dehydrating sections with 100% alcohol, clearing with Histo-Clear® (or xylene) and mounting with a glass coverslip and D.P.X. mountant.
