The Registrar and University Secretary and the Chief Operating Officer are responsible for Professional Services at the University.
Role and responsibilities
The Registrar and University Secretary is responsible for:
- the University's professional, educational, student, governance and research services
- the effective governance of the University through the Board of Trustees and its committees
- the provision of professional services within academic schools and faculties and the following divisions: Legal Services; Strategy, Planning and Change; External Relations; Research and Enterprise Development; Development and Alumni Relations; Education and Student Experience; Library Services; Sport, Exercise and Health.
The Chief Operating Officer oversees the other areas of Professional Services.
Lucinda Parr became Registrar and University Secretary in March 2019.
Lucinda Parr's biography
Lucinda Parr graduated from Goldsmiths College with a BMus in 1999, then worked there as an Admissions Officer while studying for her MMus. In 2013, after roles at Goldsmiths including Director of Executive and Governance Services, she moved to London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to become University Secretary and Registrar and Chief Compliance Officer. Her achievements there included the transfer of two African Medical Research Council units that doubled the institution's size, and the reshaping of Student and Academic Services. She is a member of various sector organisations and of Advance HE's Governor's Advisory Forum. She is also a member of the South Bristol Youth Board and the City Partners Board.
Lucinda Parr did not incur any expenses for the period 1 February 2020 to 31 July 2020.
