Staff living in Barton Hill, St Philip's and St Anne's can take advantage of the new Taxi Sharing Service. Those living in these areas can travel by taxi for short local journeys, at a cost of just 50p per journey. The service is available from 07:00 to 19:00, 7 days a week. For more information and to download an application form visit the Bristol City Council Taxis Sharing website.
Students at the University of Bristol can take advantage of the guaranteed taxi ride home if they come to be alone, with no money late in the evening. The Student’s Union has secured a contract with Swift Line who will take students home if they leave their student card with the taxi driver. The card would be returned once the fare has been paid.
