Lung Cell Biology

The Academic Respiratory Unit's (ARU) Cell Biology team is led by Professor Ann Millar and is located in the state-of-the-art  laboratories in the Learning and Research building at Southmead Hospital. The unit currently includes PhD students, technicians and administrators who are primarily involved in examining the role of inflammation in the lung. We are also expanding our work looking at the role of biomarkers and inflammatory markers in pleural diseases. To find out more about particular studies please select the links in the navigation bar on the left.

As part of the School of Clinical Sciences we have access to:

  • Tissue culture suite incorporating a category 3 laboratory
  • Protein analysis laboratory incorporating a cold room
  • PRC facility
  • DNA and RNA extraction laboratory
  • Radioactive analysis laboratory
