Volunteer Update: May 2017
8 June 2017
A brief update on the hard work our volunteers have been doing during the spring of 2017
As always, our wonderful and dedicated team of volunteers have been working very hard to help us in a variety of ways.
Firstly, a group of our volunteers have been continuing to work their way through the Mander & Mitchenson Collection reference boxes, repackaging the contents in archival standard materials and discovering many interesting and exciting things on the way. Our Facebook page features an Object of the Month which is often discovered during the repackaging process. Visit our Facebook page to discover and ‘like’ these new and inspirational objects and images.
Secondly, we have been pleased to welcome new volunteers, both individuals and groups to the Theatre Collection this spring. Some of our new volunteers have been vital in helping us to incorporate some of the books from the Mander & Mitchenson Collection into our reference library and have also begun to join long standing volunteers in their repackaging efforts.
Since the beginning of May, we have also been lucky in having the support of members of NADFAS (also known as the Arts Society) who have been attending weekly sessions at the Theatre Collection. The group have been repackaging, researching and taking detailed notes of puppets also from the Mander & Mitchenson Collection, which will help us and our researchers to better understand them.
