Research and conference websites

Researchers often have specific needs for the websites that support their work.

Research project websites

Informational research project websites should usually be accommodated within T4 Site Manager - often as part of the existing school or faculty website or as part of an approved University Research Centre (URC) website.

Non-standard needs

If researchers have web needs that go beyond a simple informational website - such as blogs, database development, mobile app development, secure areas to collaborate etc. then T4 Site Manager may not be the most appropriate solution.

Contact the Research IT team for further guidance and information.

Planning, budgets, funding bids

If researchers need help when writing a funding application, then the Research IT team have produced some guidance on what is provided by the University in terms of IT costs in grant applications and what researchers will need to bid for when making applications.

Contact the Research IT team for further guidance and information.

Research data management

Researchers may need to create, store and provide access to research data as part of their work. Research data should not be stored on research project websites within T4 Site Manager, as there are more appropriate facilities provided by IT Services.

Contact the Research Data Management team for further guidance / information.

Conferences

Informational websites to support research events - conferences, seminar series, colloquia, symposiums etc. - can usually be accommodated within T4 Site Manager as part of an existing school / faculty website.

Contact your faculty web officer for further guidance and information.
