How to use an Apache media folder

Before you start

An Apache media folder is a site-specific folder that sits outside the content management system. It is used to host large media files (video, audio, large PDF files, large image files, etc), which may then be linked to or embedded on your website.

You should use an Apache media folder to host video and audio files and any other files over ten megabytes.

Apache media folders are not set up automatically with the creation of a new website, and must be requested separately by the website's site administrator.
