About MEng Mathematics and Computer Science

This course combines theoretical knowledge from mathematics with concrete applications in computer science. It is ideal for someone looking to apply themselves to problem solving in fields such as cryptography, algorithm design, artificial intelligence and high performance computing.

In mathematics, you will study the core of linear algebra, calculus and analysis with some extra pure mathematics. You have the opportunity to tailor your computer science options so that you graduate with a balance of theoretical and practical skills that reflect your interests.

The Mathematics units taken should include calculus, algebra and trigonometry. A-level Mathematics at grade A.**
