Postgraduate taught programmes

By studying a taught postgraduate degree at Bristol, you'll learn from world-renowned academics who use their experience and knowledge to shape the rigorous curriculum. Most taught programmes lead to a master's qualification (MA, MSc, MRes, LLM). We also offer a number of programmes that can be studied to postgraduate certificate or diploma level.

You'll be able to build your professional network while you study, with opportunities to network with your peers, academics and contacts in industry.

Postgraduate research programmes

The most common qualification from a postgraduate research degree is a PhD. The University also offers a growing number of professional and extended doctoral programmes, as well as master's degrees by research.

Research degrees are typically formed of an extended period of independent research, with support from your chosen supervisor at the University. We are also home to more than 30 Centres for Doctoral Training which offer funded postgraduate research studentships.

I opted for the University of Bristol as it's well-known and it's a member of the Russell Group. It was my preference to study in a reputable research-oriented university, with high student diversity, and located in one of the most vibrant cities.
