Free National Express coachcard

If you are travelling to Bristol by National Express coach from Heathrow or Gatwick airport on 12 July, and you buy your ticket in advance, you can get a free Young Persons Coachcard. The coachcard gives you 1/3 off coach travel across the UK for an entire year.

When to arrive

Please plan to arrive at your accommodation the day before your course starts.

If you arrive before this, you will need to find somewhere else to stay.

Where we can meet you

Leaving home and arriving in a different country can be overwhelming. We are here to help. We can meet you when you arrive in the UK, if you arrive on:

  • Wednesday 12 July (students on the 6-week course)

at:

  • London Heathrow Airport, 9:00-18:00
  • Bristol Coach Station, 9:00-20:00.

If you would like us to meet you, please tell us your arrival details.

We cannot meet students on the 14 week course.  

If you are delayed, or you arrive at any other time, you must organise your own travel to Bristol.

When you arrive

Our friendly Student Ambassadors will meet you. They will wear red T-shirts and hold a University of Bristol sign. They will help you with the next part of your journey: 

at London Heathrow Airport, 9:00-18:00, 12 July

Our Student Ambassadors will meet you at your arrival terminal at London Heathrow Airport. Look for the red T-shirts and the University of Bristol sign. They will help you buy a National Express coach ticket to travel direct to Bristol Coach Station. 

at Bristol Coach Station, 9:00-20:00, 12 July

Our Student Ambassadors will be at Bristol Coach Station. They will meet students who have come from London Heathrow Airport, or any other location, by coach. Look for the red T-shirts and the University of Bristol sign.

Our Student Ambassadors will help you get a free minibus to your accommodation.

How to get to Bristol, if you arrive at another time

If you are delayed, or you arrive at any other time, you must organise your own travel to Bristol.

If you arrive in Bristol on 12 July, 9:00-20:00, you can go to Bristol Coach Station and meet our Student Ambassadors. They will help you get a free minibus to your accommodation. 

Student Ambassadors in red and white T-shirts can meet you when you arrive in the UK.

Late arrival

Email celfs-presessional@bristol.ac.uk if you are going to miss the first day of your course, to say why and when you expect to arrive.
