Eating Disorders

All our GPs take an interest in looking after students with an Eating Disorder (also known as Anorexia and Bulimia), but from the autumn of 2009 we will be adding a new and exciting service to the care we already provide. We will be offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to students who are diagnosed by the GP with an Eating Disorder, and who are motivated to make changes to their behaviour to recover from it. Our new therapist is a psychologist with an interest in Eating Disorders, and is called Will Devlin.

The availability of this service, in the same building as the Students’ Health Service, is free of charge and should dramatically cut waiting times for NHS CBT.

If you would like to discuss your eating issues, please book a double appointment with any of the GPs at SHS. We are keen to help you in the most appropriate way for you.
