Appointment booking and attendance

You can book an appointment by telephone (0117 3302720), in person or online.

Same day appointments

Are available every day except Saturday and are for one problem only. Each doctor and nurse has a selection of same day appointments within their routine clinics, we also have two duty doctors and a duty nurse dealing with same day and urgent problems. Same day appointments are available to book from 8:45 each day. They can be booked online, in person or by phone. Please note the phone lines are exceptionaly busy between 8:45 and 9:45 so you may wish to use one of the other methods to book your appointment. However you choose to book your appointment you will be asked to indicate what you need to be seen for, this is so we can book you with the most appropriate clinician and avoid wasted appointments. Due to very high demand our same day appointments do book up quickly. If you call once we are fully booked for the day you will be asked if the problem is urgent and if you indicate that it is we will ask the duty doctor to call you back to assess the situation, they will then advise you of the best course of action.

Online Booking

Routine advance and same day appointments with the doctors and nurses can be booked online. You will need to sign up to online access before you can use this service. Please ask at reception any time for instructions to sign up. You can then also make appointments using on your mobile by downloading the free Patient access app.
Once you have been set up to use the service, you may also use it to request repeat prescriptions, notify us of any change of address and see certtain parts of your medical record.

Attendance

You need to let us know when you have arrived for your appointment, either by informing the receptionist or by using the automated check-in screen. If you do not do this, the doctor or nurse will assume that you have missed your appointment and will not call you from the waiting room.
Please ensure that you arrive in good time for your appointment - if you arrive late, you will have less time with the doctor. If you are more than 10 minutes late you will have missed your appointment completely and will need to book again for another time.
There is always a high demand for appointments, so if you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know in advance so that we can offer it to someone else.

Chaperones

Male and female doctors are available and a nurse chaperone can accompany you if you wish. Please ask at reception or tell the doctor or nurse if you have a preference. Please note that it will not normally be possible to provide a chaperone for an appointment in the evening or on a saturday morning.
