Why I applied for professional registration:

This is a good way to reflect on my own professional development and get formal recognition for it. Increased employability.

My overall experience:

Generally good and gave the feel of having accomplished a lot during the last few years.

My low points:

Starting to write things down was a big hurdle to jump. Some sections are difficult to fill in and took too long.

My tops tips for others/what I learned from the experience:

• The same examples can be used for several sections
• Apply for professional registration directly through the Science Council as they propose an oral interview rather than having to fill in all the sections. I feel this would have been easier for me.
• I’ve probably spent too much time perfecting the different sections and I feel that I could have submitted earlier and use their feedback to improve the application.
• Find someone who’d be happy to read it through and to comment.
