System Support and Continuous Improvement
The Student Systems team divides its time between supporting SITS components in the production environment and developing enhancements and new functionality. We work closely with colleagues throughout the University to deliver functionality that improves processes and reduces administrative burden.
The Student Systems team actively collaborate with the suppliers of SITS - Tribal - to ensure that the product moves in a direction that is consistent with the interests of the University. As we are an long-established customer, with over 10 years experience of SITS, our opinion is valued when Tribal consults institutions. We also regularly take part in beta testing of new releases and we are one of only a handful of institutions using the latest release of the product. We also assist other SITS institutions by hosting site visits and have presented at the annual SITS user conference.
Our aim is to provide an integrated student records system that meets the varying needs of departments and schools throughout the institution. We believe this enables consistent high-quality data for providing information to management and external funding agencies. It also releases resource in departments and school for the benefit of teaching and research activity.
We are always interested to hear from colleagues who wish to make greater use of the SITS product in the management of their student records. We are also keen to hear feedback and suggestions from users and run a bi-annual user forum to provide an arena for such discussion.
