PhD student awarded accolade for reporting injustices

A final-year postgraduate student in the University's Centre for the Study of Poverty and Social Justice has been awarded an international accolade for his independent reporting of Southern Africa in the print media. Admore Tshuma, a PhD student at the University and a part-time lecturer, was presented with a Zimbabwe International Performance Alliance (ZIPA) award for his outstanding journalism highlighting the daily reality of living under President Mugabe's oppressive regime. Admore has written many research articles for the print media in Southern Africa as well as for the national tabloids and broadsheets in the UK about Zimbabwe's troubles.
