SPS academic appointed to NICE Programme Development Group

Professor Marianne Hester, Head of the Centre for Gender and Violence Studies, has recently been appointed to the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) Programme Development Group responsible for producing guidance on preventing and reducing domestic violence between intimate partners.

Professor Marianne Hester, Head of the Centre for Gender and Violence Studies, has recently been appointed to the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) Programme Development Group responsible for producing guidance on preventing and reducing domestic violence between intimate partners.

Over the next two years the NICE Preventing Domestic Violence Group will consider and interpret evidence on effectiveness and cost effectiveness, with the aim of producing guidance for the NHS, local authorities and other relevant agencies and organisations to inform policy and practice related to the prevention and reduction of domestic violence.
