Dr Julie Selwyn, director of the Hadley Centre for Adoption and Foster Care Studies at the School for Policy Studies, will be taking part in a panel discussion about adoption on Radio 5 Live today [10 December] between 10.00 and 11.00. Listen live or listen back on the BBC website.
Before joining the University, Dr Selwyn worked for 20 years as a children and families social worker in a variety of settings – child and family support centres, therapeutic communities and as an adoption worker. This experience continues to influence her teaching and research and she maintains her links with the sector through her contribution to local in-service training programmes and her work with local authorities on policy and service development.
