
Shailen is a member of the Townsend Centre for International Poverty Research. He recently completed his PhD which looked at changes in the extent and nature of child poverty in the developing world at the end of the twentieth century. He recently worked as a consultant to UNICEF on its Global Study on Child Poverty and Disparities (http://unicefglobalstudy.blogspot.com) and acted as a consultant to various international organisations, like the WHO, the Christian Children’s Fund and the UK Department for International Development.
Shailen has lectured on the MSc Policy Research and MSc Public Policy programmes, on the subjects of child poverty, child health and international development.
