Lorna Henry

Lorna Henry is a Research Associate for a Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) funded Evaluation of the Social Pedagogy Pilot Programme in England. She was previously a researcher for evaluation of the role of the Virtual School Head for Looked after Children (also funded by DCSF). In 2008 she successfully defended a PhD entitled 'Protecting Children and Protecting Family Privacy: A Study of Child Neglect'. Lorna has extensive experience as a researcher in academia and as a voluntary sector project worker facilitating service user involvement.

Child neglect, research methods, gender and child welfare, history of safeguarding.

Research interests

The state and 'the family', child neglect, gender inequality, gender and child welfare, the sociology of social work practice, research methods, research ethics, service user views.
