Latest updates FAQs

Q: I have a sports pass which I currently cannot access. Can I have a refund?

We have frozen all sports passes as of Tuesday 5 January. No further payments will be collected for memberships until the facilities re-open. Further information will be circulated about the closure period when we know more about when we will be able to resume our services and facilities.

If you wish to cancel your sports pass then the existing terms and conditions will apply until we are clearer of the exact impact on our service. Please follow this link to our terms and conditions.

Q: My child is booked on a swim and/or tennis course with the University. Will my direct debit payments continue? What will happen to my child’s place?

All lessons and courses (and payments) have been frozen from Tuesday 5 January. No further payments will be collected for lessons until the facilities re-open.

If you pay for your child's swim lessons by a pre-purchased block of ten sessions we will credit the pro-rated amount for your remaining lessons on to your child's account for use when our facilities re-open. If you pay for your child's swim lessons by direct-debit your payment made for January will be transferred to be used as payment for 1 month's of sessions when we re-open our facilities.

Further information will be circulated about the closure period when we know more about when we will be able to resume our services and facilities. We will not be registering any new customers on to courses so your place will be held for you when we are able to re-open.

If you have paid for a term-time Tennis course (January to Easter) we will add credit notes to your child's account ready for you to use when we re-open. If you haven't yet paid we won't do anything to your child's account and we will be in touch with you all when we know when we're able to re-start

Q: I have been having treatment with the Sports Medicine Clinic.  Can I continue to access support?

We are currently unable to offer face-to-face treatment. However, support is still available in the form of virtual appointments.

Current patients will be offered virtual follow-up appointments (please see our webpages for pricing), whilst new enquiries will initially be offered a free open clinic session via phone or video call to assess a suitable approach and subsequent virtual appointments offered where appropriate.

Please contact seh_sportsmedicineclinic@bristol.ac.uk to arrange an appointment with one of the team.

Q: How can I access activities I can undertake at home?

We will continue to offer live physical activity opportunities via the University of Bristol Sport APP, with various on-demand options also available on our YouTube channel

Keep in touch with our community by joining the University of Bristol Sport Strava club; get inspired by what others are doing, give them kudos and share how you're keeping active!
