The clinic is very fortunate to have Dr Jonathan Williams, Sports Physician, as part of our team.
What is a Sports Physician?
Sports Physicians are qualified doctors, and usually have an extensive background in General Medicine. In addition, they have completed specialist training in the non operative medical management of musculo-skeletal and non musculo-skeletal sports conditions. They can help accurately diagnose your problem, and aid safe return to exercise and sport.
The Sports Physician is there to manage the Athlete all the way from the initial injury to a safe return to sport and competition. They help maximise function and minimise time away from sports, work, or studies.
Do I need to be 'sporty' to see a Sports Physician?
No. Sports Physicians see people of all abilities, from those looking to increase activity and improve their sporting performance to Olympic Athletes.
They are excellent resources for those wishing to become active or begin an exercise programme.
For the "weekend warrior" who experiences an injury, the same expertise used for the competitive athlete can be applied to return the individual as quickly as possible to full function.
If your injuries or issues are related to physical activity or exercise, they can help you.
