Obtaining a sports pass

How to obtain a sports pass 2014 - 2015

We recommend all students apply for a sports pass in advance, before they arrive at the University.

Student membership prices are set based on one to two visits per week over the academic year, regardless of the facilities or programmes you choose to use. You can visit as many times as you wish, therefore the greater the use the greater the value. In place of a complicated list of facilities and programmes all showing the same entry fee (gym only, pool only, etc) we have combined ours under one simplified system - under two membership categories Peak and Off-peak.

Purchasing a Sport and Activity Pass

Our Student Sport and Activity Pass (Peak and Off-Peak membership) provides free access to all centrally managed facilities and Exercise to Music classes.

The Sport and Activity pass is valid until 30th September unless in your final year when it is 31st July. A Sport and Activity pass purchased in the final year is not valid for a full year it is only valid until 31st July when the student Ucard becomes inactive. This also applies to students who purchase a sport pass later in the term, for example a student purchasing a pass in January of their final year will only be able to use it until the 31st July. Students are therefore advised to purchase a Sport and Activity pass as soon as they start their final year to get the most from their Sport and Activity pass.

If you become a member of a University club you will be required to purchase the relevant Sport and Activity pass if you use the facilities for training or matches. So for example if you train during Peak times you will be required to purchase a Peak pass. If you train during off-peak times only then you will be required to purchase an Off-peak pass.
