The University Sport Leadership Award is a fantastic course for anyone looking to develop new skills, increase employability and enable more people to enjoy sport and physical activity at a grassroots level.

It is a national qualification developed through Sports Leaders UK that:

The Course Programme

The course consists of around 30 hours of tutor contact time and a practical assessment where candidates spend a day delivering activity sessions for local primary school children in the University Sports Centre. Candidates must also complete a minimum of 20 hours volunteering in a leadership role and are encouraged to supporting a wide range of University led events within the surrounding community.

The course runs twice during the academic year, in the Autumn and Spring terms.

Participants need to attend all sessions which are held at the University Indoor Sports Centre on Tyndall Avenue.

Cost

The costs of the course are subsidised by the University through charitable donations from various sources including the Alumni Foundation and the John Rutley Sport Fund.

University of Bristol students will be charged £30, University staff £60, and general members of the public £120.

The course is normally over-subscribed, so applications will be assessed based on the information that you provide.
