The Global Insecurities Centre conducts research on the emergent insecurities of our complex and interconnected world, advancing out research in security and insecurity, critical development studies and IR. The GIC (encompasses the former Centre for East Asian Studies) features four working groups, on: Peacebuilding, Critical Development Politics, The Climate Emergency, and Everyday Insecurities;  and four international research programmes: Somali First, SafeSeas, Disaster Risk Management, and the Secrecy, Power and Ignorance Network
