SPAIS is delighted to announce that Aleks Lewicki successfully defended her PhD thesis on Friday, 19 October 2012, passing with minor corrections.Her thesis: 'Social Justice through Citizenship? The Politics of Integration in Germany and Great Britain' was examined by Schirin Amir-Moazami (external) and Judith Squires. It provides a theoretically innovative approach to analysing discourses on citizenship and social justice, drawing critically on Nancy Fraser's work, and using detailed and rich empirical data from Aleks' fieldwork in Germany and Britain.
