The Centre for Medical Statistics houses around 50 Medical Statisticians who work on diverse projects in applied health services research and epidemiology.

The Centre for Medical Statistics has strengths in specific methodological areas and collaborate with statisticians in the School of Mathematics. In particular, we have world leading expertise in meta-analysis and evidence synthesis, causal inference, Mendelian randomisation and statistical genetics, longitudinal data analysis, missing data, and prognostic modelling.

Medical Statistics underpins many of the advances made in epidemiology and health services research. Our team aims to develop and apply statistical methodology appropriate for the diverse range of research undertaken in our School, and to collaborate in all stages of study design, conduct and analysis.
