I feel welcomed into the academic community here and excited about the research that I'll be undertaking and sharing with others.

The MA in Latin American History offers a unique opportunity for in-depth study of the history, politics and society of the region. We aim to provide a broad, comparative approach to the many and varied histories of Latin America: national, indigenous, colonial, post-colonial and modern. You will be encouraged to place your existing knowledge of one or more countries into a much wider perspective. We focus particularly on Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela and Brazil.

Language skills are integral to the programme. Units in English, Spanish and Portuguese are available at a variety of levels.

The University has a thriving research culture in Latin American Studies, with regular events and seminars. As a postgraduate student you will be fully involved in these events.

Santander Masters Bursaries are available to students from South America wishing to study on this programme.
