MA in European Literature
The MA in European Literatures offers you the opportunity for deep comparative study of European and British literature in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. We welcome graduates of either English Literature or Modern Languages.
You will study works belonging to most of the major cultural traditions covered by the School of Modern Languages, and the Department of English. Academic staff in Bristol offer expertise in all the following literatures, with specialisms ranging from the Age of Romanticism to the present day.
- English
- French
- German
- Hispanic
- Italian
- Russian
Through the programme, you will develop advanced critical and analytical skills in comparative literary study. The programme culminates in a dissertation, an extended piece of original academic research.
As a postgraduate, you will be considered a full member of the academic community, with the opportunity to participate in the many research seminars and conferences organised within the Arts Faculty.
