Success in 2016 Apero Teaching & Learning Awards

15 April 2016

The School of Modern Languages is delighted to announce that Andrea Zhok and Marcella Oliviero, both from the Department of Italian,  have been awarded first prize in the 2016 Apereo Teaching & Learning Awards (ATLAS) for their peer-teaching Italian grammar project using the Xerte authoring suite. This is an international cross-discipline competition for users of digital authoring platforms.  This award reflects the continued excellence in language teaching research and innovation through technology enhanced learning within the School.

Marcella and Andrea's success was announced yesterday at the 2016 Xerte conference in Nottingham and their work was especially praised for the way it involves students in the creation of digital teaching and learning materials.

The prize involves an invitation to present their project at the international Apereo conference in New York next month.
