MOOC: Cultural Studies and Modern Languages: an Introduction
The School of Modern Languages is offering a free online distance learning course on Cultural Studies and Modern Languages.
This is open to anyone and ideal for those who are thinking of doing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree with us. Indeed Cultural Studies and Modern Languages is a taster of the studies that, alongside the acquisition of foreign languages, makes up degree programmes here at Modern Languages.
The MOOC will start 12 October 2015 and run for four weeks.
Gloria Visintini, the Lead Educator, says: “Cultural Studies and Modern Languages is a great learning adventure. It takes you on a journey through a number of periods from the Medieval to the modern day, from Russia to Europe and all the way to Latin America. You will learn with a team of 12 academics from the School of Modern Languages. They are experts on different countries and passionate about the study of culture. They will offer you an understanding of how language and objects can reveal insights into nations.”
