University-Wide Language Programme

The University-Wide Language Programme (UWLP) offers all current undergraduate students the opportunity to learn a modern language as part of their course.

The units allow you to start at the right level for you - from beginners to advanced.

UWLP courses are available to any current undergraduate student who has "open units", or the specified option to take UWLP units, as part of their degree.

Some courses are tailored to the needs of students intending to study abroad as a compulsory part of their degree programme (for example, "Study Abroad in a Modern Language").

Register for open units

Returning students in 2024/25 must contact their Home School in the first instance to be given access to a registration form.

Registration for new students in 2024/25 will be coordinated by their Home School and will take place before the start of the academic term.
