Staff

The University has an in-house mediation service that offers an informal and confidential way to resolve problems and complaints (mediation can also be used as part of the Grievance Procedure).

The University has established procedures whereby individual employees or recognised trade unions can raise grievances and matters of concern with the University's management.

Students

Students are encouraged to raise any complaints or grievances with an appropriate member of staff at the earliest opportunity, as complaints that are dealt with informally at an early stage have the best chance of being resolved effectively.

Where informal procedures have failed to resolve the problem, students may bring a complaint under the Student Grievance Procedure.

Examination Appeals are dealt with under separate procedures found in the Examination Regulations.
