Centre for Public Health

The Centre for Public Health conducts research into the health of the population with the aim of promoting and protecting health and well-being, preventing ill-health and reducing health inequities.

Our work covers a range of policy topics including obesity, physical activity, nutrition, sexual health, mental health and well-being, tobacco, alcohol and drugs misuse.

The Centre is home to over 50 members of staff and undertakes world leading public health research.  The Centre provides both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and offers supervision and specialist training in public health and works closely with colleagues in public health policy and practice at local, regional and national level.

Public Health in the University of Bristol ranked 4th in UK

Public Health at the University of Bristol has been ranked 4th in the UK, 5th in Europe and 9th globally by Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS).
