I am a Research Associate working on the AHRC Eastmancolor Revolution and British Cinema 1955 – 85 project. This study explores the introduction and impact of Kodak Eastmancolor on the British film and other related media industries across this period.

I received my PhD from the University of East Anglia in 2015. My thesis investigated critical discourses attached to fantasy genre and ‘Britishness’ within the context of contemporary cinema.

I am currently researching the impact of colour on film genres throughout the period covered by the project and tracking changes in reception towards the films produced during this time. Further areas of research interest include the influence of colour on fashion, design and related media texts.

I have published and presented papers on topics including genre, reception studies, national identity, film adaptations and the biopic.

I have taught across a range of subjects including film theory, film history, Hollywood cinema and cultural & media studies
