PRIZE AWARDED TO NEW LECTURER

Dr Eric Greene has been awarded the prestigious Stanley Weinstein Dissertation Prize.

Dr Eric Greene, the Department's new Lecturer in East Asian Religions, has been awarded the prestigious Stanley Weinstein Dissertation Prize for his PhD dissertation, "Meditation, Repentance, and Visionary Experience in Early Medieval Chinese Buddhism" (Berkeley, 2012). This prize (in honor of Professor Weinstein’s contribution to the study of East Asian Buddhism in North America) is awarded biannually to the best PhD dissertation on East Asian Buddhism written in North America during the two previous years. The recipient of the prize is invited to give a public lecture at Yale.
