Supporting research
Welcome to the Research Support web pages. The Research Support Team works with academics to support research in a variety of ways.
- The Research Development team provides expert advice and assistance for obtaining external funding for your research. The team also acts as a contact point for funding agencies and partners, and has detailed knowledge of a wide range of funding issues.
- The Contracts team works with the academic community to ensure the best contractual and commercial basis for undertaking high quality research and consultancy. They are responsible for reviewing the terms and conditions of research proposals and contracts, and providing expert advice and assistance in the negotiation process.
- The Research Governance Manager assists the University in meeting its obligations with regards to the rules governing the conduct of research with human participants. These essentially require that a sponsor is identified to take responsibility for the quality and conduct of research.
- The Project Management team provides a flexible and responsive business development and project management resource supporting the University and its research community, with the aim of enhancing the University’s sustainability and its position as one of the UK’s leading research universities.
