Research & Enterprise Development (RED) at the University of Bristol is recruiting two new staff for the 2012-2013 academic year. We’re looking for final-year students with entrepreneurial ability and ambition to facilitate student enterprise activity at the University.
The roles in a nutshell:
Student Enterprise Consultant
- Acts as a liaison between the University’s Enterprise Managers (Enterprise Education, External Relations, Technology Transfer, and the SETsquared Incubator) and the student body
- Facilitates the work of the Student Enterprise Societies: Bristol Entrepreneurs & Bristol Social Enterprise: helping plan speaker events and enterprise projects and challenges involving local and national businesses
- Acts as the official University Advisor for the Bristol SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) team for the purposes of national training
- Provides support and training to students involved in enterprising and entrepreneurial activities
- Involved in other student-related enterprise activities including: the New Enterprise Competition, the Global Innovation Tournament, FLUX500 and more
Graduate Entrepreneur in Residence
- Acts as Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the Basecamp Student Business Incubator; acting as point of contact for students seeking advice
- Develops new resources and advice packs and helps deliver events and educational content to student entrepreneurs
- Acts as a liaison between the University’s Enterprise Managers (Enterprise Education, External Relations, Technology Transfer, and the SETsquared Incubator) and the student body
- Facilitates the Basecamp student team of advisors
- Supervises the use of Basecamp’s seed fund and forthcoming ideas funds
- Involved in other student-related enterprise activities including: the New Enterprise Competition, the Global Innovation Tournament, FLUX500 and more
Both of the posts are:
- Managed by RED’s Enterprise Skills & Education Manager (Dave Jarman) as a contracted consultant
- Employed on a four days a week basis between July 2012 and July 2013
- Paid an annual consultancy rate of £17500 subject to contracted hours (roughly £11.57 per hour)
- Provided with a desk-space and laptop for the duration of the year
