Vote for Bristol's top start up company
[Posted on 06 October 2008]
What is the best Bristol start up company of the last five years? The semi-conductor design company Xmos? The renewable energy company Tidal Generation? Or the polymer science company Revolymer, who launched the world's first non-stick chewing gum?
Members of the 1,500 strong Bristol Enterprise Network (BEN) will have the opportunity to discuss this issue and many more. It is all part of a complete overhaul of the BEN website and an attempt to offer members a wide variety of new news, information and market analysis.
Other new features include an 'Ask the Expert' section which begins with Burges Salmon partner Andrew Allan-Jones; articles from Bristol 'thought leaders'; a 'day in the life of an entrepreneur' and a new section on executive jobs in Bristol.
Paul Harrod, the coordinator of the Bristol Enterprise Network, said he hoped that the new service would lead to more of Bristol's entrepreneurs and business leaders becoming members.
"BEN is free to join, and our focus to date has been on speaker events and face-to-face networking. That will remain but we hope that more members will use the new website, and use it as an additional way to promote themselves and their business. With over 1,500 members, BEN is one of the UK's leading networks for high-tech and high-growth companies."
