The UK commercial law firm, Osbourne Clarke, offers free advice, by providing legal advice surgeries on a monthly basis.
The University's incubator clients often have specialist ventures, focusing on knowledge based or high-tech sectors. To turn a business idea into a successful venture, it is imperative that the right type of advice is sought. Osbourne Clarke do just that, having been named as "UK Law Firm of the Year" by the European Technology Forum in 2002. The Award recognised the firm's long-term commitment to the technology sector, our international vision and our work with venture capitalists.
The University of Bristol supports enterprise and, in particular, the establishment of new knowledge-based businesses, by offering a range of support including low-cost office space at its incubator, University Gate East. As well as being available to entrepreneurs from within the University, this support is also available to those from the local region, through an initiative known as SETsquared (a collaboration with the Universities of Bath, Southampton and Surrey).
