STFC Impact Acceleration Account

The Science and Technologies Facilities Council (STFC) have developed an Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) to support academics to take innovative ideas towards commercialisation through activities not currently supported by other STFC innovation funding. Objectives include strengthening user engagement, supporting knowledge exchange and commercialisation at an early stage, and supporting activities that enable impact to be achieved in an effective and timely manner. We particularly welcome innovative and creative ideas for developing impact.

The University of Bristol has been awarded a 2019 STFC IAA of £120,000 which will be allocated through a new competitive data science challenge funding call. Eligible activities must address an industry or public sector data science challenge, have a connection with STFC funded research and provide an opportunity for an Early Career Researcher.

We have £120,000 for this call which should be spent by 30 June 2020. The earliest project start date is June 2019.
