jointly-sponsored by North Bristol NHS Trust, University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, NHS Innovations South West and BioApproaches South West
Tuesday 11 November 2008, 18:00 - 21:00
The Garden Room, Clifton Pavilion, Bristol Zoo Gardens, College Road, Bristol, BS8 3HH
Speaker(s): Ashley Blom & Peter Mathieson (Clinical Science at North Bristol); Sonia Mills (North Bristol NHS Trust); Graham Rich (University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust); Neil Morgan (Technology Strategy Board)
The NHS will face huge challenges over the next few years, and new technology and business-led innovation can play a role in tackling them. An ageing population, the need to deal with hospital-acquired infection, better diagnostics, more effective internal communication, will all challenge NHS leaders in the years to come.
Following on from a very successful BEN event on 'Selling to the NHS' this event will focus on the top priorities for the health service. These challenges present great opportunities for innovators, entrepreneurs, investors and established businesses looking to the NHS as a new market. There is also an important role for researchers and academic clinicians who can help shape the future direction of the NHS.
Our panel, including two of Bristol's NHS Trusts, will each outline a 'grand challenge' and there will be opportunities for you to discuss each challenge with the speakers during round-table discussions. An important learning and networking opportunity open to all BEN members.
