Cultural Changes

BEN event: "Growing Without Losing Control" (Part 3)

Tuesday 05 December 2006, 15:00 - 17:30
@Bristol, Anchor Road, Harbourside, BS1 5DB

Speaker(s): Peter Bailie & Emma Cater (Vox Coaching), Simon Topman (VP British Chamber of Commerce), Rosa Wilkinson (MD - Policy, Small Business Service [DTI])

Concluding our series on "Growing Without Losing Control", this event will explore the cultural changes that affect every fast growing business.   When a business is hiring new staff on a weekly basis; suffering major communication breakdown and the CEO has to start making unpleasant decisions, it’s easy to look back to the halcyon days when you were starting up:  when the whole team could sit round the table and decide everything that needed to be done!   Is it possible to recapture the passion and adrenaline-rush of the start-up phase once a company goes into phases of consolidation and growth?

But change is inevitable if a business is to grow, and maintaining the right corporate culture is vital to success.  How can you communicate effectively?  How can you deal with the pressure?  How can co-founders adapt to a new way of working that may put one of them in the boss' chair?

Featuring contributions from entrepreneurs who have undergone significant cultural changes in their own business, this event will also feature opportunities for audience participation and role-play!   To find out more you’ll just have to sign up! Plus, as it will be (nearly) Christmas this event will conclude with complimentary mulled wine and mince pies.
