Another source of help to help develop your business idea and help with your entrepreneurial activities is Bristol University Business Angels which was established with the help and financial support from RED. They offer a range of services from market research and business planning to funding, marketing and accounting. And their services are free!
The Student Development Unit at the University of Bristol Union provides training, advice and support to students involved in all sorts of activities including personal development courses run under the "Tooled Up" programme. Their website has full details and you can sign up on-line to any that you want to attend.
The Careers Advisory Service is situated in 11 Priory Road and a Careers Adviser is on duty at regular periods throughout the day if you want to talk to someone about your career options. They hold a series of talks, courses and workshops and their Skills for Success programme includes training on such subjects as time management, negotiation and leadership skills.
The Bristol Enterprise Network (BEN) is the University's facility to assist knowledge transfer among the high-tech, high-growth business community. The network, which is free to join, brings together regional, national and international organisations from both the commercial and academic arenas. It provides easy and rapid access to the knowledge, expertise, experience and equipment that is available. Some of the benefits of membership are the opportunity to network with business people, access to a group of entrepreneurs, interaction with researchers and leading academics, and also sign up to attend a series of training and development opportunities including presentations, lectures, seminars and workshop.
The National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship (NCGE) is an independent company set up with support from the DFES and DTI to increase economic growth in the UK through graduate entrepreneurship. It operates in three key areas related to graduate entrepreneurship: research, education and facilitation.
